Invaders of Atlantis
A coral-encrusted pulp-fantasy adventure. Designed for Cairn 2E. | PWYW

Long after the oceans drank Atlantis...
INVADERS OF ATLANTIS is a short 4-page adventure inspired by mid 20th-century pulp magazines, like Tales from the Crypt and Weird Fantasy. This early access version is designed for Cairn 2E and its sharp, flitty ruleset.
Written and design by Clayton Notestine (Explorers Design)
Editing and proofreading by Amanda P (Weird Wonder)

What's the adventure? Rush to loot the abyssal horde of Lord Blubub, one of the last remaining Atlantean failsons. For millennia, they invaded the surface, now—at the turning of the literal tide—the surface dwellers invade them back.
- Dripping with theme. Race raiders, abyssal mariners, and the tide itself in this bloody rush to loot Lord Blubub's dreaded submersible, the Chyrbdis.
- Factions like depth charges. Make volatile allies, fearsome foes, and try not to get too close when they tear each other apart.
- Classic weird fantasy characters. Fishbowl-headed skeletons, pirates with a death wish, and the pharaoh himself, Akhenaten, dead but unbroken.
- Puzzles, loot, and lore. Thematic spellbooks, simple but devious quandaries, and plenty of little secrets and stories to uncover.
Designed for Cairn 2E. Created for the APPX N Game Jam.
What does early access mean?
This version is for the APPX N Game Jam, which means it's shorter and less polished than what I'd like. If you PWYW for this adventure today, you're grandfathered in if/when it's updated.
Future updates might include:
- Extensive playtesting for holes in the haul and unknown treasures.
- Expanded map and location details. The current version is truncated.
- More characters, monsters, and bizarre foes for OSR-style challenges.
- New system compatibility, I'm specifically hoping for Black Sword Hack.
- More accessibility features and PDF remediation.
